MARGINAL TRADERS
Politically vulnerable these diverse Eastenders, unlicenced, trading at Brick Lane’s Sunday Market in the shadow of the City,are portrayed prior to Tower Hamlets Local Council out-lawing the popular practice in 1998.
For over 6 months in the winter of 1996-1997 I would walk the market every Sunday, embedding myself & gaining trust among a wide diaspora of traders on the margins. The resulting images have been exhibited in Brick Lane and published in newspapers and magazines.
