Politically vulnerable these diverse Eastenders, unlicenced, trading at Brick Lane’s Sunday Market in the shadow of the City, are portrayed prior to Tower Hamlets outlawing the popular practice in 1998.
For over 6 months in the winter of 1996-1997 I would walk the market every Sunday, embedding myself & gaining trust among a wide diaspora of traders on the margins.The resulting images have been exhibited in Brick Lane and published.
